Going to Seed

Since there is no more Mrs Dan, I've found myself with far too much time than's good for me.

No longer restricted to where and when I can or can't go, at 36 years young, I'm a free man again.  Almost.

I guess I'm not really the type for settling down, similar to Dean Moriarty from Jack Kerouac's On The Road.  Only I haven't scattered my seed all over the place as he did.  But that's another matter.

No.  The only shackles that hold me down now, are those of work and commuting.  And I only wear those for eleven hours a day.

Trouble is, my belly is liking freedom too.  Perhaps I could go to the gym.

But then, that would be like more shackles.

So, you have had a major change in your life, I take it from this post? Proceed with caution at all new milestones in life.

It's a few months back now. I'm enjoying freedom but with freedom seems to come loneliness. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

the gym probably feels like shackles at first ... but you're shackled to your body anyway and i've found there's freedom in stretching its limits to get more of what you want.

Grab that camera and run amok in the streets taking artsy photos!

eric, i think the gym might significantly increase my chances of "pulling" another "bird2, if that's what you mean about getting more of what i want, since at present i look like a pile of blubber.
